How to save money on your t.v. bill plus free Redbox movie codes

Sometimes it seems like our budgets are squeezed to the max. Have you ever thought about how you can cut down on your television bill? You don’t have to do without. You can still enjoy the television programs and movies you want to watch, but at a more wallet-friendly cost. If you subscribe to cable or a satellite dish, there may be some ways to help you cut down on your bills. These savings can add up over the course of a year and you can use the extra money to pay off debt, which should be your ultimate goal, or add to your savings.

Go with a more basic package.

If you have the top package (i.e., the most expensive) with your cable or satellite provider, try to downgrade. If you are under contract you might want to wait until your time on the contract runs out unless it makes financial sense for you to go ahead and end your contract early. For example, if there is a $50 penalty for ending your contract early but if you will save $50 per month to downgrade, you might want to consider it.

Just because you downgrade, it doesn’t mean that you have to suffer. If you get the most expensive package because you want movie channels, you can consider other alternatives. The money that you save by downgrading from the top package to a lesser package should more than pay for you to be able to rent movies from Redbox or Netflix.

Netflix is a mail order movie company that allows you to choose how many movies you would like to have at home for one price per month. Customers create a queue of movies that they would like to rent. Netflix sends you movies from your queue and can keep them as long as you want. When you want more movies you simply send them back to Netflix and they will send the next movies in your queue when they receive the ones that you sent off.

The great thing about this is that you can get the movies that you want to see instead of waiting until they are released on the movie channels. Another great thing about this is that there is always something new to choose from. There are always new releases of movies and television shows. Is there a show that you feel like you missed the boat on? Well, with Netflix, you can watch entire seasons. Drawback: for a really popular movie, you might have to wait a little while to get it. If it’s really popular a lot of people will have it in their queue so you will have to be patient. This is a great way to save money on a cable bill that does not result in you having to miss out on anything.

If you want your movies right away, you can check out a Redbox. I heart Redbox. Movies are just $1 per night. Also, at the beginning of each month on the first Monday if you subscribe via text messages, they will send you a movie rental code for one free movie rental. Yay! The only thing I like more than Netflix is Redbox because of those free movie rental codes. And, if you’ve never used Redbox before there are a few codes that work to give you one free movie per credit/debit card. Believe me, I’ve used these to the max! Try DVDONME and BREAKROOM for free movie rentals from Redbox. Remember, these can be used once per credit/debit card which means that you can have a lot of free movies! The only thing to remember is that you have to turn your movies in on time or you will be charged $1.

Check back next week when I will share with you how you can possibly save money on your cable or satellite bill by making an offer that your satellite providers can’t refuse, and also another creative alternative to traditional television.
