Review of KQC X-Heat Tourmaline Flat Iron from Flat Iron Experts

Recently I got the chance to review the KQC X-Heat Tourmaline Flat Iron from The Flat Iron Experts. I am not much interested in doing hair. In fact if I'm going to be completely honest, I hate it. HATE IT. It's a good thing that I have a little boy and not a little girl because I would have a hard time doing a little girls hair every day.

But anyway, I got the chance to review this awesome flat iron. My little flat iron is gone with the wind. It lasted for awhile but how long can a flat iron from WalMart that I paid less than $20 for really be expected to last? I was glad that it lasted as long as it did.

Verizon FiOS for Internet and TV

Do you like tv? Do you like the Internet (you’re on it now)? Cause Verizon FiOS is a service that allows you to have Internet and TV and it’s supposed to help you save time. How? Well, you can stream movies with your high speed Internet connection. Everyone wants to make their life easier, especially if you work and/or have kids. Staying at home with kids IS work. The Internet is supposed to be as fast as it can be. FiOS is top rated in their high speed Internet service.

While I don’t currently have FiOS in my home personally, I think I would like being able to stream movies. I am a movie lover! I watch movies as often as I can, which is not that often, unfortunately. There is something called Flex View on FiOS that allows you to buy, rent, and watch on-demand movies on your FiOS tv, your computer, or even your cell phone.

I would much rather watch my movies from the comfort of my home for a few reasons.
1.) We don’t have to get dressed up and pay a ton of money, wait in line, squeeze in some seats, ignore people texting and talking on cell phones, and walk across sticky floors.
2.) No babysitter needed
3.) We can have free snacks. Who doesn’t want some snacks with their movie? I know I do, but I don’t want to pay another $10-$15 just for a drink, popcorn, and something chocolate.

We have satellite and that rarely has interference from weather. We also have cable and surprisingly, weather affects cable often. Even if it is barely raining sometimes our cable will go out for hours. I know my husband would love being able to watch HDTV without weather interference. When it comes time for football season, he wants no disruptions.

One of the features of FiOS that makes it desirable is that it is “future-proofed”. You know how there is always something new coming out with technology. You don’t have to worry about missing out on any of the new applications and Internet tools that are right around the corner.

Another feature that seems like it could be useful is media manager. This service lets you get access to your digital photos, music, Internet videos, and other goodies from a FiOS connected tv. Verizon also has other widgets that allow to tweet, get on Facebook, and YouTube right from your tv. So you can get your social media fix.

FiOS would be worth trying out. I’d love to try FiOS in my home. I’m all for making things easier! Have any of you tried FiOS in your home? What do you think about it?

Safety tips for your road trips this summer

Now that it is almost summer time, you might think about taking a road trip with your family. You want to have your vehicle in the best condition possible so you can be safe. Here are ten tips to get your car into tip-top shape before you head out on the road to make some family memories.

1. When it comes to windshield repairs, forget do-it-yourself repair kits. The resin could easily shrink or yellow, lowering the quality of the repair. Safelite AutoGlass uses a patented repair process… A vacuum is created over the damaged area and the resin penetrates and fills the finest micro-cracks. The technician pulls off the vacuum changer and the UV light hardens the resin. Safelite’s resin is proven to be the strongest and longest lasting on the market.

2. On your windshield a chip could turn into a crack at any time, often when you are least expecting it. Windshield repair is often a safe and economical alternative to a full windshield replacement.

3. Make sure the air pressure in your tires is correct. If a tire is too overinflated or underinflated, a blow out or flat tire can occur.

4. Make sure to have your oil changed right before your trip. It is important to consider your oil as a part of your vehicle that needs to be maintained so make sure to get it done!

5. Make sure you have reliable maps! If you are going with a paper map, make sure that it is one that is up to date. If you are relying on a GPS, make sure your maps are recent so you don’t get lost.

6. Avoid traveling to places that are infrequently traveled. It could be dangerous if your vehicle happens to break down in an area of the country were there are few people living. You could be stranded for a long time while waiting for rescue workers.

7. Make sure your vehicle is ready for whatever type of weather conditions you are going to be in. If you are making a winter trip, make sure your vehicle has proper tires that are suitable for travel in icy conditions.

8. Make sure your tires are not overly worn. If you’ve been putting off that trip to buy new tires, make sure you get them before you get on the road. If the tread on your tires is worn down, it could lead to dangerous slips on the road.

9. Tell your family members or friends where you are going. Tell them when you will be back so they can expect a phone call from you. Anything can happen on a trip and if you do happen to get stranded somewhere, someone should be able to let authorities know where you were so you can get the help you need.

10. And finally, make sure to have enough cash in case of emergency. If you are on a trip, you need to make sure you have more than enough money to cover the trip, just in case something unexpected comes up.

These ten tips should make your trip easier and definitely safer. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Review of TheraBreath New Probiotic Treatment and Lozenges giveaway

Did you know that about two percent of humans have naturally occurring sweet smelling breath? If you are not among the lucky few people who have naturally sweet smelling breath, give TheraBreath's Probiotics a try. I got the chance to review it for a week. It is recommended that you do a one week course of the Probiotics once a month for noticibly fresher breath during the day and NO morning breath when you wake up in the mornings. How awesome is that?

There are a lot of benefits that are mentioned in the booklet that come along with helping to inhibit the growth of bacteria responsible for bad breath. There are studies that go along with the claims in the booklet so that is always nice to see. Some of the possible benefits include:

* A reduction in the production of cytokines which are associated with gum inflamation. This could slow or stop gum disease.

* Results in a neuralization of acidity and eliminates the source of lactic acid production which has been shown to reduce tooth decay and tooth sensitivity

*Softening and reduction of plaque

* Helps support important immune cell functions

 * May offer protection against upper respiratory tract infections

And there may be some benefits that I missed. I liked that it helps eliminate morning breath, that it helps break down and reduce the formation of plaque on your teeth, and that it helps keep you from falling ill. I love TheraBreath's products. Everything that I've tried has made me feel more confident about having fresh breath. I am a customer of TheraBreath even though that means that I have to pay for it :). As a couponer, I usually don't pay for oral care products but these are way worth it to me.

Would you like to try out some of TheraBreath's mouth wetting lozenges? I have a pack to giveaway.

Purex Complete with Zout Review and Giveaway

What is less fun than having to do laundry? Having to do laundry that is stained. I mean, if you don’t care about stains on your clothes, you can launder it just like normal and hope that the stains wash out by themselves. A lot of my little boys clothes fall into that category. I’m not proud to admit that but I’d rather not spend a lot of time trying to get stains out of an 18 month old’s clothes. His playclothes get a quick spritz of stain remover and are thrown in the washer. Sometime some of it comes out, sometimes all of it comes out, and sometimes things are not as good and you are stuck with some stains.

Anytime you can get laundry detergent that has a built in stain fighter, it’s worth a shot to try it out, right? Lucky me, I got the chance to try out Purex Complete with Zout detergent. It works against protein based stains like grass and blood; starchy stains like chocolate and tomato sauce; and guar, which is used in many different foods like bbq sauce and salad dressing.

You use it as a pre-treater and as a detergent. This is a great detergent to use if you have a load of clothes that are heavily stained (like any load of my little boy’s laundry). If your clothes have a really tough stain, you can pour a little detergent directly on the stain and let it sit for five minutes before it goes into the washer.

Purex even has a fragrance free version of detergent for people with sensitive skin. It is actually the first Free and Clear detergent with an added stain fighter.

Would you like the chance to try it out for yourself? Well you’re in luck! I have two coupons for a free bottle of Purex Complete with Zout to give away to two lucky readers. Here is what you need to do to get your entries in.

How to Save with Coupons, part one

Coupons are kind of popular nowadays. When TLC’s Extreme Couponing first premiered, many people wanted to learn how to use coupons to save money like the people on the show. These people may not have ever used a coupon in their life (gasp!). Before you learn how to be “extreme” with coupons, you should learn some basics. So let’s start at the beginning.

Coupons are available for use in grocery stores, as well as fast food restaurants and retail stores. If you can learn how to cut down on your grocery bills by using coupons, it is like found money.

There are different types of coupons available to be used. There are manufacturer coupons that can be used on the specified product at any store. These can come from a Sunday paper coupon insert, from a company’s website, or they can even be found at a store on a display. Let’s learn some of the different types of coupons and different ways to get coupons.

A store coupon is a coupon that is redeemable only at a certain store. They will normally say “only redeemable at…” There are some instances when these coupons can be used at other stores, but that is for another article.

A Catalina is a type of coupon that prints at the store, usually at the time of purchase. These Catalinas are redeemed at the store from which they were printed. These coupons might print at the end of your purchase and they often come in a few varieties. These include:

* money off coupons for your next order (like save $1 off of your next purchase)

* register rewards (these come from Walgreens and are a reward for purchasing a specific product)

* coupons for a specific product (for example, save $2 off your next purchase of Excedrine Migraine)

Similar to Catalinas are Extracare bucks. These are exclusive to CVS and are store coupons that can only be used at CVS. Learn more about CVS and Extracare bucks here.

An Internet coupon is one that is you print from off of the Internet. Companies may do promotions where they offer a high-value coupon for a “like” on Facebook, or even as a thank you to customers. These coupons are printed from your own printer. Often, these can be printed two times by simply pressing the back button after the first print. These coupons are usually limited to two per computer. Coupons.com, Redplum, and Smartsource are some places where you can get started printing coupons.

An eCoupon is a coupon that is loaded onto a store card. I’ve never had the chance to use one of these yet as the stores that I shop at don’t offer them. But some stores offer coupons that you load right onto a store card and once you take them to the grocery store and purchase the items, the money comes right off of your order once you scan your card.

Another way to get coupons is to call or email companies to ask to be put on the company coupon mailing list. These coupons are sometimes high value coupons so it may be worth your time to make a point of emailing companies whose products you use frequently.

Yet another way of getting coupons is with free samples. I LOVE me some free samples. More often than not, when you get a free sample a company will include a coupon in with the sample so you can purchase the full sized product at a discount. These are sometimes great coupons with high values!

Sometimes people don’t want to start couponing because they think it is too difficult or too time consuming. While it is true that it takes time to clip the coupons and organize them, it might not take as much time as you would think. If you are not interested in extreme couponing, you don’t have to spend nearly as much time as the people on the show. And once you get used to using coupons, it is not difficult at all to remember to take coupons with you when you shop. We don’t leave the house without coupons in our family! Even if we are going to retail store, we use coupons.

If you want to start using coupons right away, you will need to start collecting them. Most couponers buy a Sunday paper (or two, or ten). These newspapers have coupons on all Sundays, except for on Holidays. Once you get your flyers, you can look at the coupons available to determine the best deals. Next week we will learn more coupon basics so stay tuned!

Review of Olive Oil Desserts: Delicious and Healthy Heart Smart Baking

Have you tried olive oil for baking? Until I had the chance to review this book, I had never heard of such a thing! We are food network die-hard fans and I had never heard of baking with olive oil before.

I had the chance to review Micki Sannar's book, Olive Oil Desserts: Delicious and Healthy Heart Smart Baking. I looked through the entire book and picked out several recipes that I wanted to try. Then my husband looked through the ones that I had chosen, and after several minutes of going back and forth, we decided to try the Oatmeal Peanut Butter cookies.

Now, I know what you're thinking, E.V.O.O in cookies? Actually, you use a pure olive oil of your choice. If you are an olive oil user than you can choose one whose flavor you enjoy. If you are not a regular olive oil user, Micki's book offers suggestions.

So we tried the recipe and the cookies turned out really good. It made a lot of cookies and we ended up putting part of it in the freezer. We haven't thawed them out yet, but I love putting cookies in the freezer and being able to take them out later to have fresh baked cookies.

Save Money around the Home

This month I have been posting articles that have hopefully given you some ideas about ways to save money. The first article gave some general tips on saving money. Last week’s article was dedicated to cutting food bills (fast food and groceries). This article is about how you can save money around the home by doing your own yard maintenance and by trying your own dog grooming.

Save money around the house tip: DIY

That’s right, save money by doing things yourself. Do you have services that you normally pay someone to do that you may be able to do yourself? I don’t mean retiling a floor, but what about yard maintenance? If you normally spend money to have someone take care of your yard, you can be paying yourself to do it instead.

Lenox Tealight Review and Giveaway

This time of year with Mother’s Day and Father’s Day coming up, many people often think about their mothers and fathers. Now that I am a mother, I appreciate all of the hard work that both of my parents put in to raise my sister and I. I’m sure it wasn’t always easy. Both parents had to make sacrifices in their lives to make sure that we had the things that we wanted and needed. I hope that I can be as good of a parent.

Recently I had the chance to review a set of tea light holders from Lenox. I was so thrilled to get the chance to review these because I’ve been wanting some for awhile now.

Save Money on Your Monthly Food Bill

Food is a necessity. It is not something that you can eliminate! Some people might not think it will pay off to save a few dollars on food, or they may not know how. Some might think it is way too complicated to even start. There are some ways, however, that you can save money on your food. And, it’s not really all that difficult to save a significant amount of money on your food each month.

What is significant? What about making an effort to save at least 20% on food? That is an amount that is a realistic starting point. If you are a family of four who spends 400-500 dollars a month on food, could you possibly reduce your bill? Okay, that is a lot of question marks. So, if a family of four can make a reduction in their food bill of just twenty percent, that would mean that a five hundred dollar a month food bill would be reduced to four hundred. They would then have an extra one hundred dollars per month, or twelve hundred dollars per year to save.

Now, if four or five hundred dollars seems like a lot to spend on food keep in mind that includes groceries and eating out. With a family of four, you can spend fifty dollars easily when you go out to eat. If you only eat out twice a month, that’s one hundred dollars right there. And fifty dollars is for a meal at an inexpensive restaurant. Surely, every now and then families eat out at more expensive restaurants as treats.

Review and Giveaway of TheraBreath products

Have you heard of TheraBreath products? I had not heard of them until I got the opportunity to review them. I was lucky enough to try the Tonsil Stone Deluxe Kit as the first product of theirs that I've used.

I have had tonsil stones for a few years now. I think they are also called tonsilloliths. They are the gross white spots that form at the back of some people's throats. I didn't have them when I was a child, but since the age of about 22, I started to notice these formations at the back of my throat from time to time.

I didn't know where they came from at first, but then I noticed that I would get them after I'd eat or drink dairy products. The thing about tonsil stones is they make your breath smell bad if you don't get rid of them. If you are suffering from tonsil stones, you know how gross they are and how they can cause you to stress out about your breath. Nobody wants to have bad breath. Needless to say, I was very excited to try a product that would get rid of them for good.

When I recieved my deluxe kit, I was excited to use it. I was at the end of a tube of toothpaste, so when I finished that off, I started the TheraBreath products. My first impression was that there was a lot of product that had to be used. But the kit comes with instructions on how to use the product correctly to help rid yourself of those disgusting tonsil stones. It took me a little while to get used to following the directions at first because there are several steps that have to be followed. After doing it for a couple of days, I was doing it with no problems at all.

I can always tell when I have a tonsil stone forming, no matter how small it is. I am pleased to say that I am now tonsil stone free. I have been using the product for about a month now and since I've used the product, I've not had one tonsil stone.

I tend to gush about products some times, I think. That's just kinda my personality- I'm excitable. BUT if this means anything, I don't think I'll ever use another brand of toothpaste or mouthwash. EVER. My mouth stays fresh feeling all day. I brush, floss, and use mouthwash in the mornings. At night, I follow the instructions in the kit to remove tonsil stones. My breath always feels fresh, even when I wake up in the morning. I have never experienced a product before that I would use at night, and then when I wake up in the morning, my mouth still feels fresh.

I wanted to test this product fully so last night, I went without brushing my teeth. Okay, honestly I just somehow got out of my routine and did not brush last night for some reason. Sure enough, when I woke up this morning, I had morning breath.

It is AMAZING what a difference this product has made in my life. It sounds cheesy, I'm sure, but this has made a huge difference in my life. I feel more confident about having fresh breath than ever before. It doesn't really take a lot of time, but it makes a huge difference. If you suffer from Tonsil Stones, give this kit a try. It worked for me. If you just want a product that works to keep your breath fresh, try some of TheraBreath's products.

There are a variety of products available to help keep your breath fresh and clean feeling. Now, if you'd like to try this product for yourself, you can go here to purchase some. Or, you can try to win some from this blog!

I've gotten the okay to give away two sets of product. I'll draw two winners who will each get to try out one tube of TheraBreath toothpaste and one bottle of TheraBreath mouthwash. Here's what you need to do to get your entries in.

Eliminate your Credit Score Woes

Many people worry about their credit score and for good reason. Credit scores are a means of determining whether to extend credit to individuals or not. If your credit score is good, you have a great chance to borrow with low interest rates. If your credit score is not good, you will either be charged high interest rates, or you may be declined for credit all together. If you have credit score woes, take heart. You can fix your score you are diligent about doing so. Don’t expect an increase in credit score right away, especially if your credit is in really bad shape to start off. But with time and responsible credit usage, your score is sure to improve.

 The best thing that you can do is to pay your bills on time- always! Or, if you are behind on your bills, catch up as soon as possible. Pay your bill in full each month when it is due. Then once you catch up, you must stay current. If you are having trouble paying your bills, talk to your creditors or with a credit counseling agency. Make sure that if you do go the credit counseling route, find a legitimate counseling agency who can really help you to find a way out of your credit troubles. As you eventually begin to pay your bills on time, your score will improve.

 Try not to open new accounts. The reason it is important that you don’t open new accounts unnecessarily is that credit is based on the amount of time you have an account. If you open a lot of new accounts the average age of your credit accounts is lowered.

 Use your existing credit responsibly. This means that you must resist from purchasing items on credit that you don’t have the money to repay at the end of the month. If you must use credit, use it sparingly. You should try to avoid charging large amounts on your credit cards. If it at all possible, pay off your credit cards as soon as you use them. If you use credit to purchase an item during the month, pay it off at the end of the month when your bill is due. Try to keep your accounts at a zero balance.

You can improve your credit score if you are diligent about doing so. Pay your bills on time, refrain from opening new accounts, and use your credit responsibly. With such responsible credit practices your credit score is sure to increase over time.

NuSkin ageLOC Transformation Review and Giveaway $400 Vallue!

No matter what your age, it’s never too early to start taking better care of your skin. Recently I had the chance to use a skincare product that I’d never used before. It’s called Nu Skin. I must admit, this is the first time that I’ve used a skincare product that is specifically designed to help reduce the signs of aging. At twenty-something years old, I never really thought that skincare products designed to reduce the signs of aging would make that much of a difference for me.

I had the opportunity to try the Nu Skin ageLOC Transformation system. This system combines four products with a combination of the most up-to-date anti-aging science and technology from Nu Skin. This is the most advanced anti-aging system ever that produces the ultimate anti-aging benefits. The ageLoc Transformation system cleanses, renews, moisturizes, and reveals younger looking skin in as many as eight ways. The amazing thing is that this starts in just the first seven days.

The claims are that you’ll experience a more youthful skin structure, a more even skin tone, reduced appearance of lines and wrinkles, more radiant skin, and much more. I read the information on the product before I used it. It said that 100% of subjects who used the ageLOC Transformation system twice daily for showed improvements as determined by a clinical grader. The improvement in overall appearance included diminishment of fine lines, skin smoothness, and radiance, all after 12 weeks of use.

Now, I’m always a skeptic. I don’t believe things until I try them myself. Ever. I definitely went into this experience not really expecting noticeable differences. I mean, I figured that of course a clinical skin grader would be able to notice a difference. I don’t know what kind of special cameras and lights they can use to notice the most minute changes. I wasn’t so sure that I would be able to notice a change in my skin.

I was hoping, however, that I would be able to see a noticeable difference because of the products. I have noticed that my pores look larger than before, so I was really hoping that would change. Plus, every gal can use skin that is more hydrated, smoother, and more even looking. I wanted to be able to give an accurate review, so I started using only the Nu Skin ageLOC products. I used it for seven days and began to notice that my skin felt smoother on about the 9th day. I’m not saying that it didn’t work until then, I just mean that’s when I was able to notice it.

I have now been using the products for three weeks and I can really say that they do work. I wouldn’t have believed that it would make such a difference if I hadn’t tried it myself. I have dry and sensitive skin, as I found out that I have eczema, but this didn’t cause any kind of breakouts for me. I definitely noticed that my skin was more hydrated than before and it just feels better. I wish I had a camera that was good enough to show the difference in my skin, but alas, mine is not the newest.

Would you like to try one of these systems for yourself?

You can purchase the Nu Skin ageLOC Transformation system that I tried from their site for about $410.

A lesser costing option would be to win it here! The folks at Nu Skin have given me permission to give away one Nu Skin ageLOC Transformation system like the one I tried. This product has an over $400 value! This would make a great gift for yourself, or for a friend. They'd have to be a good friend though cause I'm not sure I'd be inclined to give this away myself...but you all are probably a lot more noble than I.

Here is what you have to do to gain entry into this giveaway.

+ Visit the Nu Skin site and tell me what other product you’d like to try if you had the chance.

Smart Mouth Review

I had the chance to review Smart Mouth, a mouthwash that claims to provide twelve hours of fresh breath after just one rinse. It works to eliminate existing bad breath and prevents it from coming back. It's supposed to eliminate morning breath too.
How does it work? You are supposed to rinse twice a day for all day (and all night) fresh breath. There are two seperate bottles that you have to mix together to swish your mouth with. Mixing the two bottles together is what activates the formula. One downside to this product for me is that the bottles leak. I lost half of one of my bottles when I knocked it down unawares. Bummer.
It is safe for children ages 6 and older as well as diabetics. What makes this mouthwash different from other types of mouthwash is the fact that it is alcohol free. You know that burn you get when you wash your mouth with most mouthwashes? Well, you won't have that with Smart Mouth.
I enjoyed using it. It provided a minty fresh breath feeling and made me feel more confident about my breath. As a teacher, it's nice to feel like you are covered when it comes to the fresh breath department. When you are in a meeting with a parent, or even other teachers, it is nice to know that you don't have to worry about your breath knocking anyone out.
Disclosure: This post is based on my own opinion. No compensation was recieved for this other than getting a product to try out.

Ocean Nasal Spray review and giveaway

If your family is anything like mine, you could benefit from having a product to make breathing easier. Nasal spray helps a lot. Recently I had the chance to review some Ocean products in our home. There are several Ocean products available for the family. We reviewed Ocean Complete, Ocean Premium, and Ocean for Kids.

Since my little guy is only 16 months old, I liked that the Ocean for Kids product is even gently enough for newborns to use. It is specifically formulated for newborns up to children aged 12 years old. When the climate is dry and little nasal passages get irritated, Ocean is good to help moisten airways. It also helps with nosebleeds and nasal congestion.

The adult products are good as well.I'm semiembarrassed to admit this but until recently (maybe in the last year or so), I had never used a nasal spray. It just always seemed like it wasn't necessary. Plus, I didn't think I'd like the feeling of shooting liquid up the nose. If you haven't tried it before, it's really not that bad. Plus, it makes you feel better. Once you've used a nasal spray a few times you'll have no problem picking one up every time you feel a little dry or congested! Here's a video with a little more information about some Ocean products.

Would you like to try some Ocean products of your own? I have one set of Ocean products available for giveaway to one of my readers. Here's what you need to do for the mandatory entry:

Purex Crystals review and giveaway

Have you had the chance to try out the new Purex Crystals? As a Purex Insider I got the opportunity to review some of these crystals in my laundry. Our family likes them alot. They do what they claim to do: soften your clothes while leaving a long-lasting fragrance.
They are a unique way of softening and freshening your laundry. They have 92% natural products that keep your laundry smelling great for weeks. The difference between Purex Crystals and traditional fabric softener is that the average softener is oil based. This oil coats your fabbrics causing an oily residue. Crystals softener actually infuses fibers of cloth with a long-lasting fragrance.

Winner of Ergomotion Laser Mouse

Okay,so I kinda dropped the ball on this giveaway. I don't know what I was thinking when I ended this giveaway at the end of State Testing week. I had other things on my mind and a ton of stuff to do at work so for some reason I was thinking this giveaway ended on Sunday when it really ended on Tuesday. Sorry about that. This teaches me that I can't have giveaways ending when I have important things goin on at school (state testing, long workshops, beginning of the school year, end of the school year, etc). So the winner of this giveaway is lucky number one, Evie. I will send you an email to get your address to send off to the sponsor. Thanks everyone for the entries!

How to Raise your Credit Score, Even in this Economy!

With the economy the way it is right now it is essential to have a high credit score. People who are unemployed or underemployed may have to rely on their credit now more than they ever had to before. If your credit scores are lackluster, there are some things you can do to improve them. However, it will take work on your part and some passage of time to get your scores where you would like them to be.

It should be noted that the following advice is not for people who have a credit score of around 740, as there is little you can do to improve your score if it is that high to begin with. Even if you manage to improve your credit score by a few points above 740, there is generally no more additional benefit. Here are some tips that most of us can use to improve our credit score.

If I were abducted by aliens...

Being a mom is great most of the time. Spending time with your children, watching them grow up, and seeing their personalities come out is fun. Sometimes you have to do stuff that’s not as much fun too though. It comes with the territory. Your kids may think they could do without you, but then they would miss at least ten things that are unique to you.

The new Disney movie coming out March 11th called “Mars Needs Moms,” is all about a kid whose mother is mom-napped by aliens. He has to go on a quest to bring her back home. Here’s a list of ten things that I think MY little guy would miss if I were abducted by aliens.

Good morning hugs
My little guy might not own up to it, but I know he would miss hugs in the morning. There is nothing sweeter than seeing him first thing in the morning in his cute little p.j.’s. I can never resist scooping him up and giving him hugs and kisses. He could probably do without the kisses though, if I had to guess.

Back rubs
I’m pretty sure that Ezra would miss backrubs. When I rub his back, he puts his thumb in his mouth and lays his head on me. If he is anything like his mommy, he loves getting a backrub.

Three Things you can do to Improve Your Credit Score Now

This series of articles has to do with improving credit score. If you have problems with your credit score, there are many doors that are not open to you. Credit score is important for anyone who uses credit for any reason. When you purchase items on credit, your credit score determines whether you pay a high finance charge, or whether you pay a low finance charge. Most people finance big ticket items such as cars and homes. If you have a poor credit score you may be forced to spend a lot more than you would if your score was good. Or, even worse than that, you may not be able to get approved for loans at all.

There are three things that you can do now to improve your credit score immediately: be punctual when paying bills, keep old accounts open, and don’t take on unnecessary new debt.

Pay your bills on time
The first thing you can do to improve your credit score immediately is to pay your bills on time. Every month when your bills are do you must pay them on time. Don’t just try to pay your bills before the grace period ends. Make every effort to get your bills paid on or before the due date. When you go thirty or more days past the due date, you get a negative mark on your credit score. These marks usually remain on your credit report for seven years.

Ji Ga Zo review

Have you tried Ji Ga Zo yet? It is a new puzzle from Hasbro. Ji Ga Zo originates from the puzzle game that is popular in Japan. The way it works is a user takes a picture (or I guess you could find one on the Internet too) and uploads it. After it is uploaded you print out a type of map that has different symbols on it the back. These symbols are what help you to put together the puzzle.

There are 300 puzzle pieces that make up the puzzle. The neat thing about this is that the pieces are not in color. They are like different shades of sepia. It looks like a jumble of puzzle pieces when you start but when you finish, using the symbol map, you have a picture of whatever you want. This can be used over and over to recreate millions of puzzles.

The game includes a CD that helps you to create your picture puzzle. It takes no time to set up! All you have to do it take a picture, upload it to the program, and the program creates a map of symbols that when assembled correctly, will give you the picture that you want. So you are not looking for different pieces of a puzzle like you would with a normal puzzle. You would instead look for the symbols and after all of the symbols are in the right place, you have a picture. It is too neat!

If you like puzzles, you will love this game. You never have to do the same puzzle twice. So instead of buying new puzzles all the time, you can just take a new picture. Once you finish assembling your puzzle you can take pictures of it for your album. One neat idea is that you can take a picture of your child in various stages in their life, assemble a puzzle, and take a picture of it. These are like Monet’s to me. Up close you can’t really tell what they are but when you step back, the picture appears. This is a really neat idea and our family enjoyed it!

Review and giveaway of the ErgoMotion Laser Mouse

Recently I got the opportunity to review a new laser mouse for my desktop computer. It is called the ErgoMotion Laser Mouse. This mouse is ergonomically designed so it moves in a more natural way, following the movement of your hand and wrist.

This is a great product if you spend a lot of time on the computer. The patented pivot motion design of this mouse is different from the traditional mouse that you are used to using. You can move your hand and wrist more and this helps to promote blood flow.

What I loved about this product is the fact that there is no cord. You don't have to worry about the cord dragging behind your mouse so you have more freedom with this mouse to move it where it is most comfortable for you. It is easy to install, and is ready to go in no time once you get it. Here- watch this video. It can describe the mouse better than I can.

Would you like to have the chance to win one of these for your desktop computer? I have been given the opportunity to give away one to one of my readers. It has an approximate retail value of $50! This would make a great gift for yourself or someone you care about. Here is what you need to do to get your entries in:

Review and Giveaway of Get Ready for Pilates DVD

Are you one of the people who made a resolution to be healthier this year? I was. One of the things that involves is exercising. When I got the chance to review a beginner's Pilates DVD, Get Ready for Pilates by Kathi Casey, I was excited. I have done Pilates in the past and have enjoyed the way it makes you feel after doing it.
Don't be fooled into thinking that because this is a beginner's dvd, it is going to be a breeze. Let me tell you, it is NOT. She explains everything to you because you are a beginner but it is still a workout. I was very sore after the first time I did this dvd and I'd be lying if I said that I was able to do everything she did. I had to modify many, many things!

Make money from home update

This is a follow-up post from one that I made in November. I did a post about a program that I was sponsored to write about. Click here for the full details. The program requires that you pay $10 to get a membership, and you buy referrals. When you buy referrals (which only cost about fifty cent each), you get paid.

I said that I would try out the program and let you know whether it works or not, even though I was very skeptical. I do have to say though, it does work! I made like $30. Which is not bad at all. I did get a free premium membership, which normally costs $10. But, I bought the referrals like an average customer would and it worked for me. I have to admit, I wasn't quite sure if it would work or not. I don't completely (okay, not at all) understand how it works but I got my money within like a week.

And understand, this post is not a paid post. I'm not getting paid anything to write it. The first one was sponsored but I'm simply writing this one because I told my readers that I would try the service and do a follow up post. There are no links to the site that I will get paid for if you become a member or if you click and go to the site. I just know that it worked for me and I am putting it out there for you to take a look at. Here's a link to the site. The web address is www.automoneysite.info. See? Just a regular address.

If you do decide to try it, let me know how it works for you. I'm curious to know if it works out for everyone else.

How to save money on your t.v. bill part 2

Last week I shared a way for you to save money on your cable or satellite bill. This week I want to share an idea that we have used to successfully save money on our satellite bill. It is all about knowing your worth as a customer. Companies want your business. When you have been a long time customer who pays your bill on time, you are valuable to them. Or, you should be. If this is not the case with your company, you should find another company.

My husband and I have Directv satellite. We have it for the NFL Sunday ticket, or should I say that HE has it for that reason. We have been with Directv for several years now. A few years ago we started seeing the great deals that Directv was offering for new customers and didn’t think it was fair. We made the decision that we would call up the company to see what they had to offer us. Eric and I decided that if they had nothing to offer us, we were going to walk. We would either switch to cable or satellite.

So we called Directv and told them that we had been a customer for three years (at the time), had never missed a payment or been late, and would like to see what they had to offer us. At the time, we were not under any type of contract. We initially signed up for the Sunday Ticket promotion when we bought our house. The promotion was something like… buy the Sunday Ticket, get all the movie channels free for like six months.
