If I were abducted by aliens...

Being a mom is great most of the time. Spending time with your children, watching them grow up, and seeing their personalities come out is fun. Sometimes you have to do stuff that’s not as much fun too though. It comes with the territory. Your kids may think they could do without you, but then they would miss at least ten things that are unique to you.

The new Disney movie coming out March 11th called “Mars Needs Moms,” is all about a kid whose mother is mom-napped by aliens. He has to go on a quest to bring her back home. Here’s a list of ten things that I think MY little guy would miss if I were abducted by aliens.

Good morning hugs
My little guy might not own up to it, but I know he would miss hugs in the morning. There is nothing sweeter than seeing him first thing in the morning in his cute little p.j.’s. I can never resist scooping him up and giving him hugs and kisses. He could probably do without the kisses though, if I had to guess.

Back rubs
I’m pretty sure that Ezra would miss backrubs. When I rub his back, he puts his thumb in his mouth and lays his head on me. If he is anything like his mommy, he loves getting a backrub.

Three Things you can do to Improve Your Credit Score Now

This series of articles has to do with improving credit score. If you have problems with your credit score, there are many doors that are not open to you. Credit score is important for anyone who uses credit for any reason. When you purchase items on credit, your credit score determines whether you pay a high finance charge, or whether you pay a low finance charge. Most people finance big ticket items such as cars and homes. If you have a poor credit score you may be forced to spend a lot more than you would if your score was good. Or, even worse than that, you may not be able to get approved for loans at all.

There are three things that you can do now to improve your credit score immediately: be punctual when paying bills, keep old accounts open, and don’t take on unnecessary new debt.

Pay your bills on time
The first thing you can do to improve your credit score immediately is to pay your bills on time. Every month when your bills are do you must pay them on time. Don’t just try to pay your bills before the grace period ends. Make every effort to get your bills paid on or before the due date. When you go thirty or more days past the due date, you get a negative mark on your credit score. These marks usually remain on your credit report for seven years.

Ji Ga Zo review

Have you tried Ji Ga Zo yet? It is a new puzzle from Hasbro. Ji Ga Zo originates from the puzzle game that is popular in Japan. The way it works is a user takes a picture (or I guess you could find one on the Internet too) and uploads it. After it is uploaded you print out a type of map that has different symbols on it the back. These symbols are what help you to put together the puzzle.

There are 300 puzzle pieces that make up the puzzle. The neat thing about this is that the pieces are not in color. They are like different shades of sepia. It looks like a jumble of puzzle pieces when you start but when you finish, using the symbol map, you have a picture of whatever you want. This can be used over and over to recreate millions of puzzles.

The game includes a CD that helps you to create your picture puzzle. It takes no time to set up! All you have to do it take a picture, upload it to the program, and the program creates a map of symbols that when assembled correctly, will give you the picture that you want. So you are not looking for different pieces of a puzzle like you would with a normal puzzle. You would instead look for the symbols and after all of the symbols are in the right place, you have a picture. It is too neat!

If you like puzzles, you will love this game. You never have to do the same puzzle twice. So instead of buying new puzzles all the time, you can just take a new picture. Once you finish assembling your puzzle you can take pictures of it for your album. One neat idea is that you can take a picture of your child in various stages in their life, assemble a puzzle, and take a picture of it. These are like Monet’s to me. Up close you can’t really tell what they are but when you step back, the picture appears. This is a really neat idea and our family enjoyed it!

Review and giveaway of the ErgoMotion Laser Mouse

Recently I got the opportunity to review a new laser mouse for my desktop computer. It is called the ErgoMotion Laser Mouse. This mouse is ergonomically designed so it moves in a more natural way, following the movement of your hand and wrist.

This is a great product if you spend a lot of time on the computer. The patented pivot motion design of this mouse is different from the traditional mouse that you are used to using. You can move your hand and wrist more and this helps to promote blood flow.

What I loved about this product is the fact that there is no cord. You don't have to worry about the cord dragging behind your mouse so you have more freedom with this mouse to move it where it is most comfortable for you. It is easy to install, and is ready to go in no time once you get it. Here- watch this video. It can describe the mouse better than I can.

Would you like to have the chance to win one of these for your desktop computer? I have been given the opportunity to give away one to one of my readers. It has an approximate retail value of $50! This would make a great gift for yourself or someone you care about. Here is what you need to do to get your entries in:

Review and Giveaway of Get Ready for Pilates DVD

Are you one of the people who made a resolution to be healthier this year? I was. One of the things that involves is exercising. When I got the chance to review a beginner's Pilates DVD, Get Ready for Pilates by Kathi Casey, I was excited. I have done Pilates in the past and have enjoyed the way it makes you feel after doing it.
Don't be fooled into thinking that because this is a beginner's dvd, it is going to be a breeze. Let me tell you, it is NOT. She explains everything to you because you are a beginner but it is still a workout. I was very sore after the first time I did this dvd and I'd be lying if I said that I was able to do everything she did. I had to modify many, many things!

Make money from home update

This is a follow-up post from one that I made in November. I did a post about a program that I was sponsored to write about. Click here for the full details. The program requires that you pay $10 to get a membership, and you buy referrals. When you buy referrals (which only cost about fifty cent each), you get paid.

I said that I would try out the program and let you know whether it works or not, even though I was very skeptical. I do have to say though, it does work! I made like $30. Which is not bad at all. I did get a free premium membership, which normally costs $10. But, I bought the referrals like an average customer would and it worked for me. I have to admit, I wasn't quite sure if it would work or not. I don't completely (okay, not at all) understand how it works but I got my money within like a week.

And understand, this post is not a paid post. I'm not getting paid anything to write it. The first one was sponsored but I'm simply writing this one because I told my readers that I would try the service and do a follow up post. There are no links to the site that I will get paid for if you become a member or if you click and go to the site. I just know that it worked for me and I am putting it out there for you to take a look at. Here's a link to the site. The web address is www.automoneysite.info. See? Just a regular address.

If you do decide to try it, let me know how it works for you. I'm curious to know if it works out for everyone else.

How to save money on your t.v. bill part 2

Last week I shared a way for you to save money on your cable or satellite bill. This week I want to share an idea that we have used to successfully save money on our satellite bill. It is all about knowing your worth as a customer. Companies want your business. When you have been a long time customer who pays your bill on time, you are valuable to them. Or, you should be. If this is not the case with your company, you should find another company.

My husband and I have Directv satellite. We have it for the NFL Sunday ticket, or should I say that HE has it for that reason. We have been with Directv for several years now. A few years ago we started seeing the great deals that Directv was offering for new customers and didn’t think it was fair. We made the decision that we would call up the company to see what they had to offer us. Eric and I decided that if they had nothing to offer us, we were going to walk. We would either switch to cable or satellite.

So we called Directv and told them that we had been a customer for three years (at the time), had never missed a payment or been late, and would like to see what they had to offer us. At the time, we were not under any type of contract. We initially signed up for the Sunday Ticket promotion when we bought our house. The promotion was something like… buy the Sunday Ticket, get all the movie channels free for like six months.

How I try to spread a little happiness each day

Happiness is too good to keep to yourself! Why not share it with those you love? I try to be a pleasant person every day but it doesn’t always work out. I am not a morning person, for starters. Secondly, I am very grouchy if I’ve not eaten. I try to spread a little happiness in my classroom for my students. It makes the classroom so much more pleasant for everyone involved.

Since I am a teacher and have to see students early in the morning, I have to put on a happy face whether I feel like it or not. Most days I’m successful. I share happiness with my students as much as possible, but I also try to share happiness at home with my husband when I can.

Winners of giveaways

Sorry for the delay in getting this post done and posted! After a couple hours of tallying up entries, I am ready to announce the winners of my blog launch giveaways.

The winner of the $5 Amazon gift certificate is copperbliss

The winner of the Acquaessentials Thermal Water is Leah W.

The winner of the Acquaessentials Thermal Mud is randomletters82

The winner of the $20 Pay pal cash is mattschmunk

Congratulations! I hope you all enjoy your prizes! I have emailed these winners and will need to hear from them within 48 hours or I'll have to pick another winner. Please allow three to four weeks for me to ship the items (Thermal Water and Thermal Mud).

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention. For the paypal cash giveaway, I had some people who did not enter with the google doc form. This time as long as they did the mandatory entry, I counted them. But that took a lot of time to count all the votes so from now on, the paypal thing will be with a google doc form. That's just a lot easier to count. I'm always super paranoid that I'll miscount and announce someone as a winner when the win really belongs to someone else!! I'm thinking about doing all of my big entry giveaways with google docs...we'll see how it goes.

If you didn't win this time, keep trying. I have some great giveaways coming up in future weeks. I have a giveaway worth over $400! And, I will start accepting entries for the next paypal cash giveaway soon. It will another $20 since it will be for the rest of February and then March also. More details about that to come. Thanks for being a reader!

Make Money Mystery Shopping part 4

Welcome to Make Money Mystery Shopping part 4. This week I will discuss some of the things that you need to get started, and some of the things that are optional to help you make higher profits. Make sure you read weeks one, two, and three before you read this post.

To get started mystery shopping, you will need some tools. You should start with a cell phone with a clock and timer of some sort. I think most people have this. If you don’t have a cell phone with a clock, you should have a watch. You need this to note times that specific things happen. Often mystery shopping companies want to know what time a shopper enters their establishment and what time they leave. They may also want to know how long it takes for employees to interact with you.

You will need a computer with a printer and internet access. You will probably want to start off by printing the shop requirements of companies. After you have done mystery shopping for a little while it becomes easier to remember requirements without having them printed. Internet access is also a necessity. You will have to enter reports online so you can’t really get around having either of these.

Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies Review and giveaway

Did you know that most of us don’t get the fiber that we need? This includes your little ones. A four year old should get 25 grams of fiber per day while an 11 year old needs at least 31 grams. In most people, these needs are not met with their diet. I had the opportunity to review Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies. These are daily fiber supplements that are designed for kids ages 2-11. They are designed to be taken three times per day and they come in the form of super cute gummy candy looking things, for lack of a better way to describe them.

My little guy is too young to use the product as he just turned 15 months so I decided that I would try them out. I know that I don’t get the amount of fiber that I should so I figured that these would be a welcome addition to my diet. They are a great way to help add fiber to your diet. I liked the flavor okay, I’m sure kids probably don’t mind taking them at all, especially if they like gummy bear candy.

Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies are good to use in addition to fruit and vegetables to help children get closer to the amount of fiber that they need daily. Would you like to see how your little ones like them? Here is your chance. I am allowed to give one reader a bottle of Pedia-Lax for the young ones in their lives. Here is what you have to do to get your entries in:

How to save money on your t.v. bill plus free Redbox movie codes

Sometimes it seems like our budgets are squeezed to the max. Have you ever thought about how you can cut down on your television bill? You don’t have to do without. You can still enjoy the television programs and movies you want to watch, but at a more wallet-friendly cost. If you subscribe to cable or a satellite dish, there may be some ways to help you cut down on your bills. These savings can add up over the course of a year and you can use the extra money to pay off debt, which should be your ultimate goal, or add to your savings.

Go with a more basic package.

If you have the top package (i.e., the most expensive) with your cable or satellite provider, try to downgrade. If you are under contract you might want to wait until your time on the contract runs out unless it makes financial sense for you to go ahead and end your contract early. For example, if there is a $50 penalty for ending your contract early but if you will save $50 per month to downgrade, you might want to consider it.

Make Money Mystery Shopping part 3

Welcome to part three of Make Money Mystery Shopping. Click here to read week one and here to read week two if you haven't read them already. This week I am continuing to tell why mystery shopping is an awesome part-time (or full-time) job. I want all you potential mystery shoppers to know why it is a job that is in demand.

Have you ever wondered what people think of you when they meet you? Well, mystery shopping is kind of like that. Companies need mystery shoppers to tell them (the company) what they (the customer) think about the services they’ve received.

Make Money Mystery Shopping Part 2

Welcome to part two of Make Money Mystery Shopping. Last week I explained why mystery shopping is a great way to make money from home. I didn’t explain what mystery shopping actually is. This article will explain what mystery shopping is, and also some of the types of mystery shops available. If you missed last week's post, check it out here.

Mystery shopping is when an individual does an evaluation for a company (usually incognito) and is paid to do so. I know that is kind of a broad, general way to say it but it’s true. You can get paid to do mystery shopping for so many different services that I am hesitant to try to give a more specific definition than that.

Here are some examples of mystery shops that I’ve done. Keep in mind, this is an abbreviated list:

+ I’ve stayed at a hotel for the night and completed a report on the quality of the hotel. I received reimbursement as well as a shopping fee.

+ I’ve gone grocery shopping and was reimbursed for doing so, and received a shopping fee.

+ I have helped my husband to mystery shop apartments! We have pretended that we were interested in moving in to an apartment and we pay attention to the sales pitch that the employees give. These pay awesome shop fees.

+ I have mystery shopped cell phone companies. Received a shop fee.

+ I have mystery shopped pizza delivery companies. Didn’t have to actually buy a pizza, just evaluate the associate over the phone, so I received a shop fee.

+ I have mystery shopped fast food restaurants. Received reimbursement plus a fee.

+ I have mystery shopped casual dining restaurants. Received reimbursement plus a fee.

+ There are more that I’m leaving out because I’ve done many, many different types.

Here are some mystery shops that I know exist because I have worked with the company before, but just haven’t done these types of shops:

+ Veterinarian check-up shops. Take your pets to the vet and evaluate the vet’s services.

+ New car evaluation shops. You test drive a new car and evaluate the salesmanship of the employee at the car lot.

+ Insurance evaluation shops. Don’t really know a lot about this one.

+ Fine dining shops. You get paid to evaluate the food at expensive restaurants- I mean $40+ per plate restaurants. That’s expensive to me!

+ Theme park mystery shops. Take your family, buy food, and have fun while you mystery shop.

+ Major/Minor League baseball mystery shops. You purchase tickets (which you are reimbursed for), go to a game, and buy merchandise and food (which you are also reimbursed for). And on top of that, you get a shop fee.

+ Cruise mystery shops. YES cruise shops. I haven’t actually seen them available with companies that I’ve worked with, but they are out there.

+ Mortgage loan inquiry shops. You pretend that you want to take out a mortgage loan and use fake information so your credit report is never actually pulled. These pay well!

+ Too many more to mention. I haven’t even scratched the surface. There are so many types of shops out there that you will be blown away by what’s available.
Mystery shoppers are paid for providing information to a company regarding their experience. The value of this for a company is that they can see what the average customer experiences.

Since I have had many requests for mystery shopping lists, I will compile one to give away to subscribers. If you are interested in getting your hands on the list, please subscribe. Oh, and when you subscribe you get the chance to win $20 Pay Pal cash to get you started on your mystery shopping adventure. When I post the last article in this series I’ll leave a form for you to enter your email address and I’ll send a list so that you can get started. Thanks for reading! If you missed the first week in the series, click here. Next week on Tuesday, I will put up week three’s Make Money Mystery Shopping post.
