Bomgar

Have you ever heard of a company called Bomgar? Until I did research for this post I hadn’t heard of them. I’m sure, however, that most of us have had some experience using the type of service that this company provides. Bomgar provides a secure way for technicians to remotely control computers, servers, smartphones, and network devices over the Internet with remote desktop support.

Not ringing any bells for you? Well, here is an example that probably applies to you. Have you ever reached for your laptop or went to turn on your desktop computer only to find out that it is not cooperating with you for some reason? I think most of us have had that experience at one time or another. Yes, it is frustrating and inconvenient. And if after tinkering around with it for a few minutes it is still not cooperating, it’s time to get some help.

Unless you are unusually hard-headed and choose to spend more time working on the problem yourself, you probably go ahead and call the appropriate company. If it is a problem with an internet connection, you call your internet service provider. If it is a problem with the computer itself, you call the company that you bought your computer from.

You get a technician to help you over the phone. He or she will get you to try some things to fix the problem yourself. After going through all of the things that you can do with the help of the technician, the technician may try to get remote access to your computer to find out what the problem is. Remote access is when the technician is able to take control of your computer from wherever they are. Instead of coming to your house, they can get through to your computer just like they are there. You can see the mouse moving around on your screen while the tech is doing all types of technical stuff. They work their magic and your computer starts working again.

That is the magic of remote desktop access for pc. Bomgar provides support for the technician to be able to reach in and fix your computer problems for you. Pretty neat huh? Although I would probably never need to get remote access to another computer, I am grateful that a company like Bomgar exists. Imagine having to wait around for a technician to come out to your house! I’ll take help through remote access any day!
