Can we have a little girl talk for a minute? This is a review and giveaway for Stride panties and I have to admit, I was really excited to do this one. Stride panties are great for runners. But, alas, a runner I am not. However I am a kinda recent mother. Wendy Spencer came up with the idea of Stride panties for women (and men) after having her child and enduring leakage problems herself. Stride panties were just featured on Shopping Channel this week! These panties use patented Oquos technology to get rid of moisture "8 times more effectively than cotton." And these panties absorb up to one ounce of liquid for up to 100 washes, when they are laundered properly.
Now back to my experience with bladder leakage. My sweet little boy is 11 months old. And, any woman who has had a child knows that during and after pregnancy there is often a little bladder leakage. No body likes to talk about it but, yes, I'm going there.
I remember the first time I discovered this problem. My husband and I were watching a terribly boring romance movie that I had picked out. I guess he was humoring me because I was with child. The movie had ended and I got up to go check the mailbox. I was walking down our driveway and I felt wetness on the back of my pants. I thought that surely I had sat in something wet on the couch but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I had somehow peed my pants without realizing it. When I thought a little more I remembered that I had run out of panty liners and did not feel like going to the store so I had done without that day. Not. Pleasant. I had never peed my pants before so I guess I was in denial for a minute there. I mean I knew that I'd heard before that pregnant women have bladder leakage but I guess I didn't realize that it could happen to me without me even knowing that it happened!
So when I went back inside I told my husband that I was gonna freshen up. He looked at me strangely but I ran out of the room before I had to say anything else. It's okay. You can laugh at me cause I'm sure if you've had a child you have probably been there too. I could've used a little extra wetness absorbancy that day. I coulda used some Stride panties.
After I had my little boy I was excited that I would not have to worry about bladder leakage any more. Boy was I wrong! So panty liners had become a regular part of my life until I found Stride. The day I got my pair of panties in the mail I was pleasantly surprised at how cute they were. I mean, I was expecting panties with a built in wetness absorber to be bulky and all grannied out or something. Stride Everyday panties are actually quite cute! When I got them in the mail, I did laundry and put them away in my drawer to wear later. About 4 days later I thought I would get them out to wear and I searched my underwear drawer and could not find them! I pulled everything out and was frantic for a minute! And then I saw them. They completely blended in with my other panties. I guess I'd forgotten that they weren't some horribly ugly bulky underwear. I'll save both you, reader, and myself the embarrassment of posting a picture of myself in the panties. You'll have to look at the picture at the top of this post showing models wearing the panties. I would love to own at least four more pair.

Thank you for "going there". Good to know that other women suffer from a bladder problem after giving birth.
Neat! This would be helpful as I'm about to give birth to my 2nd. I didn't even know a product like this existed, so that's the main thing I learned on the site!
Thanks,
Laura

Learned - DO NOT use any fabric softener (neither liquid in the wash cycle, nor sheets in the dryer), as this creates a buildup that affects the performance of absorption.

I learned the OQUOS naturally deodorizing while the super-absorbent fibers contained in the liner absorb up to an ounce of moisture.
