Little Ones Books review and giveaway

It is important that music, books, and video be introduced into the lives of children. Now that I am a parent I make sure that I expose my little one to these things as much as I can. As a teacher I have worked with children who come from homes where these things are not recognized to be as important as they are. In my experience, children really benefit from having rich experiences with music and literature from an early age.

Recently I have had the opportunity to review a product from a great website called Little One Books. I was super stoked (have never used that word in my life but thought it might be kinda cool to try it now...did I pull it off?) to have the opportunity to try out a new product for Ezra. We decided to try music- Folk Song Lullabies by Phil Rosenthal. He loves it! He listens to it every day during his nap time. A lot of times he will start crying when we put him in the crib because, of course, he does not want to take a nap. But when we turn on the music he turns toward it and stops crying. Seriously, it is one of the BEST things we have for him.

So Little One Books is a web site that has books, music, and videos that have been specially selected. What I like about the web site is that every product has been reviewed. So it's not some site with random products that are there without any rhyme or reason. These people understand that music, books and video are important for young people and every item in the store has been tried out.

Products are available for children from birth through age five. They match each product to what they think is the youngest appropriate age group so you don't have to worry about purchasing something that is not appropriate for the age of the child you have in mind. Also available are: personal anecdotes ralated to child rearing on the companion blog; latest news in child development; and discussions with authors, illustrators, musicians, and producers. One of the goals of the company is to help people make informed decisions when making purchasing choices for children. There is so much out there that it is nice to have a little guidance. They also want to make sure that customers have a rewarding online shopping experience.
